FAQ
Q: Do you ship to Alaska or Hawaii?
A: Yes! If you need something shipped to Alaska, Hawaii, or anywhere outside of the Lower 48 & Canada, you can contact us to help you place an order. Please note that shipping costs will be higher for these areas.
Q: How do I install the frame and/or canopy?
A: Here are the instructions to install the frame and canopy.
Q: How do I install the contractor base?
A: Here are the instructions to install the contractor base. The contractor base uses the same hardware as the cross base, so the hardware will come with the umbrella.
Q: How do I install the spa base?
A: Bolt the spa base either 12” or 16” on center, through the deck boards, into the joists. We do not supply the hardware for the spa base, because we do not know what it’s being bolted to (wood, composite, concrete, etc). If it’s being bolted into wood/composite, 3.5” lag bolts should do the trick. If it’s being bolted to concrete, we recommend concrete expansion bolts.
Q: How do I install the off deck mount?
A: We do not supply the hardware for the off deck mount, because we do not know what it’s being bolted to (wood, composite, concrete, etc). If it’s being bolted into wood/composite, 3.5” lag bolts should do the trick. If it’s being bolted to concrete, we recommend concrete expansion bolts. If your umbrella is going to be installed on the outside of a railing, you would spin the CLOSED umbrella to face away from the deck, open the canopy, and then spin the umbrella back around to cover the deck.
Q: How do you install the extended support tube?
A: Remove the standard support tube (20”) and replace it with the extended support tube. The small extended support tube adds 12" to the height, equaling a total height of 32". The medium extended support tube adds 18" to the height, equaling a total height of 38". The large extended support tube adds 24" to the height, equaling a total height of 44".
Q: Why is the swivel base hard to rotate?
A: It’s always a lot easier to rotate the base if you have two people, or something to hold on to, where you can use a little leverage. If you haven’t used it for a season (or if we’ve just sent a new one), sometimes you just have to “pop it loose” - use more force than normal to get it moving again - which is normal. The more you use it, the easier it is to rotate.
Q: Is there maintenance I should be doing to the swivel base?
A: Grease can be added from the under side of the swivel base if it becomes hard to turn, but I wouldn't add it unless it becomes hard to turn.
Q: Can I bolt the swivel base directly to the deck?
A: Yes, you can. Just make sure to reinforce underneath to make sure that all bolts are going into the substructure of the deck. If it’s being bolted into wood/composite, 3.5” lag bolts should do the trick. If it’s being bolted to concrete, we recommend concrete expansion bolts.
Q: How do I clean the canopy?
A: We recommend the ‘303’ product line - specifically the Fabric Cleaner and Fabric Guard.
Q: My canopy slowly closes while I'm sitting under the umbrella... why won’t the canopy stay open?
A: Turn the crank clockwise. Turning the crank counter-clockwise will still open the canopy, but will not engage the locking mechanism.
Q: Do you have installation videos for the umbrella and canopy?
A: Yes! You can find them on our shop page here.
Q: Do you have repair videos for replacing parts?
A: Yes! You can find them on our parts page here.

Q: Is the transformer connection single-prong or dual-prong?
A: The transformer connection is dual-prong, as there are two (2) terminals.
Q: What is the UV protection on the umbrella?
A: UPF40.
Q: What is the warranty on the umbrella?
